An Upgraded Laboratory Excels in Assessment
The Fiji Industries Laboratory recently achieved a major milestone by passing a rigorous technical audit conducted by International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) in May 2013. The audit included a full technical review of operations and a special Mechanical Signatory Assessment for one of the lab analysts. As a result, the lab now has six analysts qualified with mechanical signatories, reinforcing its growing capabilities.
The assessment was carried out under international standards and benchmarks. According to the audit summary, the lab met all requirements related to accuracy, procedural integrity, and reporting quality. This successful outcome reflects the lab’s deep commitment to excellence, research integrity, and quality assurance.
One notable achievement came from an analyst who successfully earned an additional mechanical signatory during the assessment. This certification strengthens the technical reputation of the lab and increases its capacity to serve both local and regional industrial clients with confidence.
A Technical Hub for Pacific Cement
As the primary testing facility for Pacific Cement Limited, the lab supports a wide range of quality control processes and customer-facing technical reports. It ensures that cement production maintains compliance with international quality standards and adapts to the latest material science developments.
“Our proven ability to produce accurate and reliable results is an endorsement of our readiness to meet global benchmarks,” a lab spokesperson shared.
The lab team continues to invest in both equipment and personnel development. Ongoing training programs are designed to upskill analysts and expand the scope of accreditation. These efforts place the Fiji Industries Laboratory on par with modern, world-class facilities in the region.
